    • Ms. Umland received her MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and her BA from Yale University.

After spending two years managing US strategies, she transferred to the international equity team as portfolio manager. Ms. Umland became the head of the international equity team in 1998.   • Antonio Docal, CFA
    Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager
    • Mr. Docal joined the Templeton organization in 2001. With more than 20 years of investment experience, Mr. Docal has research responsibility for the global chemical and automobile industries.
    • Prior to joining Templeton, Mr. Docal was vice president and director at Evergreen Funds in Boston, managing the Evergreen Latin America Fund and co-managing the Evergreen Emerging Market Fund and the Evergreen Global Opportunities Fund. Before this position, he was principal and co-founder of Docal Associates, Inc., and import/export and marketing consulting firm in Connecticut. Prior to that, he was an assistant treasurer in the mergers and acquisitions department at JPMorgan in New York City.
    • Mr. Docal earned a B.A. in economics from Trinity College in Connecticut and an M.B.A with concentrations in finance and international management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Docal is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
  • Cindy L. Sweeting, CFA
    Portfolio Manager, Director of Research, Global Equity
    • Cindy Sweeting, director of research of the Templeton Global Equity Group, joined Templeton's Nassau office in 1997 and has 25 years of experience in the investment industry. Currently based in Fort Lauderdale, Ms. Sweeting is the lead portfolio manager of Templeton International Smaller Companies Fund and co-manages Templeton Global Smaller Companies Fund. She also has portfolio management responsibility for significant institutional separate account relationships with both global and international mandates in addition to her research management responsibilities.
    • Prior to joining Franklin Templeton Investments, Ms. Sweeting was the vice president of investments with McDermott International Investments Co., Inc., in Nassau. At McDermott, she was responsible for the investment department, which encompassed portfolio management and pension administration.
    • Ms. Sweeting graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University, where she earned her B.S. in business administration with a concentration in finance. She has served as vice president of the board of directors of the International Society of Financial Analysts (IFSA), which has now merged with the CFA Institute. She was a founding member and past president of the Bahamas Chapter of ISFA. Ms. Sweeting is a Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Charterholder.


Jennison:

  • Jennison Associates began managing investments in 1969 as an SEC-registered investment advisor for tax-free, domestic large cap growth equity accounts, primarily for large institutions.
